Rajgundha Trek Highlights

Rajgundha Trek Overview

This trek is less famous but a must go for everyone. The journey begins from Bir then to Barot and then moves to Rajgundha which is the main spot. This includes a mixed up experience with nature as well as the local culture.
The starting point is from Bir and this starts by 10 in the morning and ends by 12 at noon. The package is inclusive of the 1 night stay at Bir in a hotel, 1night stay at Alpine camps in Rajgundha, Meals such as dinner, lunch and breakfast, An experienced guide,activities such as trekking and camping.
The distance covered by this trek is 16 kms and the height of this peak is 8,900 ft. Temperature in this area ranges from -5 to 3 degrees during night and 8 to 15 degree celsius during morning. The trek is comparatively moderate and facilities like ATM and network are available.
The Barot valley is actually a part of the Kangra region of the himalayas. One will arrive at Bir and enjoy the sunrise for the first day. Then there will be a delicious breakfast served. Now one is free to do a little long walks to know more about the village and its mesmerizing beauty.
By the evening, everyone will be arriving at Rajgundha and drinking tea from there. Then everyone can socialize among the team.
Dinner will be served that night and the next morning,everyone will wake up seeing the scenic sun rise. Now one can go for walks and take photos from there. That day everyone will return to the base camp.

Day 2 - Palampur to Barot valley

Barot valley

On the second day everyone will be moving to Barot valley. After lunch the real trek to Rajgundha starts from the base point-Badagraan. After reaching the Rajgundha, one will enjoy a blissful evening and a delicious dinner.

Day 3 - Barot to Billing

Billing

The journey of the third day will be till billing and from there one will be dropped off at Bir.

What time is most preferable to go to Rajgundha?

One can visit Rajgundha in either summer or winter.The place has fairly moderate weather which is not that cold and not that much hot. The preferred months are APril, June,and October to december. It is better to avoid trekking in monsoon because it gets dangerous.

How can I reach the starting point of Rajgundha and Barot valley trek?

The trekking will start from Palampur which is near to Pathankot. One an opt train,roador flight to travel till this area.
If one is traveling by road,Buses are easily available from Mnali, Chandigarh, Dharamshala,Kangra and Shimla to the base point.
The nearest railway station to this location is Pathankot railway which is 90 kms away. From there one can board buses to reach the base point.
If one prefers flight, the nearest airport is Gaggal airport. This is a small airport and the nearest big airport is chandigarh.Anyway one can take a taxi or buses to reach the base area.

How long will the Rajgundha trek be?

The Rajgundha trek will take a total of 3 days and 2 nights. First day one will check in to the hotel in Palampur.That day after dinner, everyone will go for sightseeing in Palampur and Bir.On the second day everyone will be moving to Barot valley. After lunch the real trek to Rajgundha starts from the base point-Badagraan. After reaching the Rajgundha, one will enjoy a blissful evening and a delicious dinner. The third day, everyone will be moving to Billing. There are 2 day 1 night packages available too.

Confirmation Policy

Upon booking, the traveller will receive a confirmation voucher via email, within 24 hours.
In the special cases of slots not being available, feasible alternatives will be provided to the customer, in regards to the customer’s preference. In such cases, a new voucher would be sent via email, consisting of the new travel details.

Cancellation Policy

Any cancellation made 20 days prior to the date of departure, would levy a 30% of total tour cost as cancellation charges.
Any cancellation made within 7-20 days prior to the date of departure, would levy a 60% of total tour cost as cancellation charges.
Any cancellation made within 0-7 days prior to the date of departure, would levy a 100% of total tour cost as cancellation charges.
Due to any restrictions such as sudden government policies or regulations, health hazards, medical emergencies, or unprecedented weather conditions, activities and tours may be nonoperational and be cancelled. In cases such as these, operators will attempt to cater to the traveller an alternate, which is feasible in nature. However, any refund would not be catered.
